ABOUT THE BOOK

MY INDIA, MY STORY is the memoir of a passionate Indian who firmly believes – the concept of Life is very subjective and one must live according to one’s own perceptions and beliefs. She defines the journey of her life as a gratifying march  ‘from Janmbhumi to Karmbhumi’. It symbolises her life in Delhi as a child to her life thereafter in Guwahati, where she resides and works at present.

In her book, Kalpana evaluates our rich culture, traditions and heritage, and takes us through her childhood rooted in understanding these concepts and forming values of her own. She shares thought-provoking stories of her struggles, in an attempt to guide the present generation and show them the path to a happy and successful life.

Some of her stories are intended for students and their parents. It opens a new approach to education and career as Kalpana gives motivational inputs as a teacher and mentor on how to embrace life gracefully.

There are relevant discussions on the role of science in Ancient Bharat, Reservation policy in India, COVID-19, NEP 2020 and the growing need for Community Service in our country. All along the way, Kalpana holds on to rationale and sincerity in her approach to life.

A Scientist and currently a Professor of Physics at Gauhati University, Dr Kalpana Bora spends her time preparing students with valuable life lessons and acts as a support system for parents as well as the community.
